Nvidia’s insanely powerful RTX 5090 is right around the corner. Priced at $2,000, the GPU is far from cheap — but Nvidia is hosting a sweepstakes where you can try your luck at winning one. Here’s how to participate and attempt to win Nvidia’s best graphics card.

Nvidia has already been giving away some GPUs, as well as a whole custom PC, in the lead-up to the launch of the RTX 50-series. Now that the cards are no longer a secret, the sweepstakes have moved on from the classic GeForce 256 to the GeForce RTX 5090, which is bound to be a beastly card (although perhaps not as beastly as the benchmarks would have you believe).

The company shared a post on X (Twitter) detailing how to win the RTX 5090. It’s all very simple: You just have to like this post and leave a comment underneath it using the hashtag GeForceRTX50.

The attached clip circles through various versions of the card, including Nvidia’s own Founders Edition, as well as models from its partners, including Gigabyte and MSI. According to Nvidia, every card that’s featured in its posts marks a chance for you to win. It’s unclear how long the sweepstakes will go on for, as the terms and conditions page appears to be broken right now.

The hype surrounding Nvidia’s CES 2025 keynote is definitely real. Nvidia announced the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and the RTX 5070, and all of these GPUs are set to arrive soon. The first two are launching this month, on January 30, and the other two are coming sometime in February. However, if you try your luck, who knows — you might get yourself an RTX 5090 early (and save $2,000 in the process).

Nvidia hinted that there’d be more ways to win, so perhaps there’ll be more than one RTX 5090 up for grabs. Your best bet is to follow Nvidia’s socials and join in whenever something is happening.

Nvidia’s DLSS 4 is almost here — but many questions remain

A box for the Nvidia RTX 5080.

Nvidia’s RTX 50-series is right around the corner, and now, one of the most prominent GPU leakers just confirmed that we can also look forward to a new version of Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). According to kopite7kimi on X (Twitter), Nvidia will launch DLSS 4 alongside some of its best graphics cards. Still, that just leaves us with even more unanswered questions.

The main question that comes to mind is whether DLSS 4 will be an RTX 50-series exclusive or not. DLSS 3, with its impressive frame generation, was only available in the RTX 40-series. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that Nvidia might, once again, introduce some kind of a major improvement for DLSS 4 that would be locked to next-gen cards. In fact, with some of the GPUs rumored to deliver minor performance increases, DLSS 4 could be a big deal for Nvidia’s RTX 50-series marketing.

Nvidia might dominate the GPU market in January

Nvidia, AMD, and Intel are all set to update their lists of the best graphics cards sometime in January. Now, according to HKEPC, a Hong Kong media outlet, we know that the Nvidia RTX 5080 is reportedly set to launch on January 21. Meanwhile, AMD may take more time to ramp up its GPU availability, giving Nvidia the chance to dominate the GPU market in early 2025.

With CES 2025 mere days away, we already know that January is going to be one busy month for PC enthusiasts. Nvidia’s got the RTX 50-series, AMD is launching the RX 9000 series, and Intel will add one more GPU to its Battlemage lineup. Only the last one has a confirmed release date of January 16, but it seems that Nvidia will be just one week behind — if the leak is to be believed.

Nvidia’s RTX 5080 might be outrageously expensive

We’re mere days away from Nvidia officially announcing the RTX 50-series. Many leakers have already shared information about the specs of Nvidia’s upcoming best graphics cards, but the pricing has remained a mystery — until now. Vex, a YouTuber, just shared a claim about the pricing of Nvidia’s RTX 5080, and it looks like we might have a repeat of the previous generation on our hands, and then some.

Before we dive in, here’s the obligatory disclaimer: We have no way of verifying the credibility of this leak. Vex was reportedly contacted by someone who works for an Australian retailer, and that person provided a screenshot listing many Asus RTX 5080 graphics cards, along with some basic specs and pricing. It could be true, and it could be fake — we just don’t know right now. One thing is certain, though: If this is real, it’s not good news for gamers.
