Apple has issued point releases for its operating systems, including iOS 18.1.1, iPadOS 18.1.1, macOS Sequoia 15.1.1, and visionOS 2.1.1.
The version number change indicates the updates are not ones with major feature changes. Instead, the smaller version uptick signifies smaller changes, and often includes security fixes and compatibility changes.
The notes for the latest batch of updates state that they are for important security fixes, which all users should install on their devices. Details of what these security fixes are will be detailed on the Apple security releases page in the future.
The build numbers for iOS 18.1.1, iPadOS 18.1.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 are all 22B91. visionOS 2.1.1 is build 22N591.
For the iPhone and iPad, the update can be installed manually through the Settings app then General then Software Update. On the Mac, it’s System Settings, General, then Software Update.
Software updates can also be configured to download automatically, saving users from manual refreshes.
