Reportedly, Apple has implemented some ‘daring innovations’ in the aesthetics of the iPhone 17 Slim. The upcoming model is said to be slimmer and lighter compared to its predecessors, with an aluminum chassis.

The camera island is expected to be positioned horizontally, resembling the design of the Pixel 8 series. However, Apple has recently switched back to a vertical camera layout to support Spatial Video, raising questions about the functionality of this feature with a horizontal camera setup.

The front of the device will feature a narrower Dynamic Island, possibly due to the company’s use of a more compact “metalens” for the Face ID sensor. The design of the iPhone 17 Slim is reportedly reminiscent of the iPhone X.

The upcoming ‘Slim’ variant is set to feature a 6.55-inch screen, bridging the gap between the non-Pro and Pro models. By comparison, the iPhone 15 Plus boasts a 6.7-inch display. Furthermore, reports indicate that the iPhone 17 Slim will introduce 120Hz high refresh rate support.

Notably, this marks the first instance of a non-Pro iPhone model offering such a feature. There are also rumors that the base model of the iPhone 17 series may include a 120Hz refresh rate. While these models will provide a smoother viewing experience, they will also feature adaptive refresh rates like the Pro models, ensuring that the phone adjusts the refresh rate according to the displayed content.
