Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone is reportedly set for release next year, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The device is expected to feature a design similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series, with a foldable form factor. Additionally, the foldable iPhone is said to be based on the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to have a slim and lightweight build. This new information further supports speculation about Apple’s entry into the foldable phone market.

Mark Gurman reports that Apple plans to launch a foldable iPhone in 2026, resembling the book-style foldable design of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series. The device is expected to feature a similar form factor and design language, making it distinct from clamshell-style foldables.

Gurman also notes that Apple’s foldable will incorporate technologies from the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, which is rumored to be Apple’s thinnest phone yet with a 5.5mm build. If Apple delivers the same high-end specifications in a foldable device with a slim design, it could give them an edge over competitors in the foldable smartphone market.
