Apple’s Vision Pro headset launches in Europe, Canada and Australia

Vision Pro launched in Australia, Canada, France, Germany and the U.K. on Friday. Interested buyers can now go to an Apple retail store in any of those countries for a demonstration. Or just put in an order online.

This comes two weeks after the product arrived in Asia. The U.S. launch was in February.

Vision Pro is now in Europe, Asia and elsewhere

Vision Pro is Apple’s first foray into what the company calls “spatial computing.” The headset focuses on augmented reality, which overlays computer-generated content onto the real world, though it offers virtual reality, too. And there are many other features — it can be a desktop Mac replacement. While its bleeding-edge technology draws praise, the $3,500 price remains a drawback.

After a surge of sales at the February launch, U.S. demand for Vision Pro supposedly slowed. Apple’s answer is expanding availability internationally. The move will also greatly increase the number of developers who can create software for visionOS.

Apple began taking preorders for the AR headset in Australia, Canada, France, Germany and the U.K. in June. The product is now in stores in those countries.

The only options for configuring the spatial computer are for storage tiers — the base model comes with 256 GB but is upgradable to 512 GB or 1 TB.  ZEISS lens inserts for correcting the wearer’s vision are also available.

The price is actually higher than in the United States. The base model Vision Pro is £3,499 in the U.K., for example. In France and Germany, the cost is 3999€. The Australian price is A$5,999, while the Canadian price is $4999.

And, of course, anyone interested can drop in on an Apple Store in the United States for a demo, too. That said, many people are likely waiting on the more affordable version that leaks indicate could arrive at the end of 2025.
