The MacBook Air may need to wait a little longer for a refresh

Display shipments for new MacBook Air, iPad rumored to start in October

While Apple is anticipated to refresh the iPad mini, Mac mini, and MacBook Pro in October, the MacBook Air and entry-level iPad will take a bit longer.

Display panels for the M4 MacBook Air and the 10.9-inch iPad are reportedly shipping out in October. The news comes from supply chain analyst Ross Young, who wrote about it on X.

The timing would mean that if Apple refreshes its devices in October, the iPad and MacBook Air would likely be absent. However, the October device display ship date seems about on track for a spring 2025 refresh.

It has been rumored that update for one or both devices are expected in late 2024 or early 2025. Although it’s uncommon for Apple to release devices between November and February, it did announce products in November 2020, and the 2023 MacBook Pro October MacBook announcement had devices ship in early November.
