In addition to iOS 18 and watchOS 11 launching today, Apple has also released macOS Sequoia, which also does not bring in any Apple Intelligence features. That will likely be here with macOS 15.1.

However, macOS 15 does bring in quite a few other new features to supported Macs. These Macs include the 2018 and later MacBook Pro, 2020 and later MacBook Air, 2018 and later Mac mini, all Mac Studio models, 2019 and later iMac, and the ‌iMac‌ Pro.

Like most other Mac updates, this is another free update. In fact, Apple hasn’t charged for a macOS update since 2009, where it charged $20 for the update.

What’s new in macOS 15 Sequoia?

So what’s new? Well, first off, like the iPhone, the Mac now has its own dedicated Passwords app instead of being bundled only in the Settings app. This makes it easier to use the Passwords app to fill in your passwords and other sensitive content.

Apple has also finally brought iPhone Mirroring to the Mac. This is a feature that is rather surprising that it was never available on macOS before. But now you can mirror your iPhone on your Mac and monitor your iPhone’s notifications, also use its apps so forth.

Another surprising feature that many didn’t know the Mac didn’t have was Window Tiling. It’s now here, and now snaps into place, like it does on Windows. Window Tiling was here before, but it was nowhere near as robust as it is now. You are able to use different keyboard and menu shortcuts to tile your windows however you like.

There are loads of other updates available in macOS 15 Sequoia as well, and Apple Intelligence will be coming soon as well. That includes features like Writing Tools, and Genmoji, to name a few. Of course, the new Siri will be part of it as well.
