Initially rumored for a 2024 release, the rugged smartwatch is now tipped to debut alongside the Apple Watch Series 11 and the iPhone 17 lineup at Apple’s annual September launch event.

Jeff Pu’s latest report lays out Apple’s product roadmap through 2027, revealing that the company may be preparing for one of its biggest autumn launch events in 2025. Alongside the anticipated Apple Watch Ultra 3, Apple is expected to unveil the Apple Watch Series 11, iPhone 17 lineup, and a new HomePod model—reportedly called HomePod 6. If accurate, this could mark one of Apple’s most ambitious fall seasons in recent memory.

While the Watch Ultra 2 launched in September 2023, Apple has remained mostly silent on its successor. The only notable update since has been a new colour option for the Ultra 2. This has left fans and industry watchers eagerly awaiting news of substantial hardware improvements and new features in the next model.

Rumors surrounding the Apple Watch Ultra 3 suggest a range of upgrades, including longer battery life, a more advanced LTPO 3 OLED display, and potentially satellite connectivity—a feature previously hinted at by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Looking beyond 2025, Pu’s roadmap indicates the Apple Watch Series 12 and the third-gen AirPods Pro may arrive in 2026. The year 2027 is shaping up to be especially significant for Apple’s wearables, with projections of a smartwatch that includes blood pressure monitoring. Additionally, Apple could debut its long-rumored smart glasses and a more affordable “Vision Air” mixed-reality headset.

Jeff Pu’s predictions are further supported by respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who also expects the Watch Ultra 3 to arrive in 2025. The growing alignment among analysts signals a major hardware refresh across Apple’s product lines. Apple also recently unveiled watchOS 26 at WWDC 2025, featuring a redesigned interface and smarter tools focused on fitness, messaging, and everyday use, setting the stage for its upcoming wearables.
