Those who want a new Apple Watch Ultra 2 as soon as possible need to think carefully about what band to get with it. With some bands, the wearable is available on launch day later this month. But with others the wait stretches out to November.
So do you really, really want that Trail Loop in Orange/Beige?
Apple Watch Ultra 2 can be yours as soon as September 22
The highlight of the newly revealed Apple Watch Ultra 2 is a faster S9 chip that also increases the wearable’s already considerable battery life.
The second-generation Ultra is available for preorder now, and will start reaching customers and store shelves on September 22. But the delivery date is greatly affected by the Watch band the user chooses.
A check of the online Apple store on Thursday shows that, for most bands, the product will still arrive on launch day. But choose the Ocean Band in medium or large and it won’t be delivered until between September 29 and October 6, though it’s available in an Apple store earlier.
And, as noted, choosing the Trail Loop in Orange/Beige when configuring the Apple Watch Ultra 2 pushes the delivery back to sometime between October 27 to November 3.
Apple offers bands for the new wearable in a range of colors and styles. Waiting five or six extra weeks just to get a specific band in a specific color might not be the best decision.
Apple requires Watch shoppers to purchase a new band when they buy the device, even if they already have a band they like and intend to keep using. If that’s you, don’t let a band you’re not really interested in delay the delivery.
