Earlier this year, MSI launched six gaming monitors with Samsung Display’s QD-OLED display panels. Among them were 321URX and 491CQP. It hasn’t even been six months since then and the Taiwanese company has now launched more advanced variants of those two models: 321CURX and 491CQPX. While the older monitors used Samsung’s second-generation panels, the new models use third-generation panels, which offer better specifications, and therefore, better picture quality.
MSI 491CQPX
Let’s start with the MSI 491CQPX. As the name suggests, it features a massive, 49-inch display. It has a 5,120 x 1,440 pixels resolution. While the 491CQP had a 144Hz refresh rate, this one offers a 240Hz refresh rate, courtesy of Samsung’s 3ed Gen QD-OLED. That’s the major improvement the new monitor offers over the older one.
MSI 321CURX
Coming to the MSI 321CURX, it has a 1700R curvature, unlike the 321URX, which had a flat panel. This is also MSI’s first curved gaming monitor with a QD-OLED display. That’s the only major upgrade the new monitor offers over the older one. Other specifications of the MSI 321CURX and the 491CQPX are similar to that of the 321URX and 491CQP. Both models also come with a 3-year warranty, which is something that the older models didn’t offer (they had a one-year warranty).
MSI has neither announced prices nor the availability of these monitors. The brand should release those details soon. If it is a QD-OLED gaming monitor that you are looking for, you should definitely consider Samsung’s own Odyssey OLED G6 and the Odyssey OLED G8 in our video above.
