Nvidia’s RTX 5060 Ti is right around the corner, and we’ve all been bracing ourselves for the big reveal. It’s not just about where it’ll place among some of the best graphics cards — oh, if only that were the only concern. In the midst of a GPU shortage, most gamers have been worried about the potential recommended list price (MSRP) of these new GPUs. Well, good news — it might not be as bad as we all thought it’d be.

Just recently, a leak from Board Channels told us that the RTX 5060 Ti would share the same price as its predecessors. For a bit of clarification: We expect the RTX 5060 Ti to launch in two versions, one with 16GB VRAM and one with 8GB. Previous leaks indicated that the 16GB version would cost $499 — the same as the last gen — followed by $399 for the 5060 Ti 8GB.

I almost convinced myself that this was kind of good news; after all, we could be dealing with a price increase. However, as shared by IT Home, we might actually get something even better: A price cut.

IT Home reports that Nvidia has sent the official MSRP to its add-in card (AIC) partners, and it’s better than expected. The prices are said to be set to $379 for the 8GB card and $429 for the 16GB card, marking a significant price cut for the 16GB version and a $20 discount for the 8GB variant.

There’s been no mention of the RTX 5060, which is also said to be revealed alongside the other GPUs on April 15. If the RTX 5060 Ti starts at $379, we might see the RTX 5060 at around $300 to $320, but we’ll have to wait for the official reveal. Until Nvidia itself announces these GPUs, everything is pure speculation.

MSI could be working on a Nvidia GPU to finally beat the RTX 4090

Fans on the RTX 5080.

One leak could be a fluke, but two leaks? MSI might be cooking. As per (now) two leaked images, MSI might have an exciting new GPU in the works, and it’d be one that could rival some of the best graphics cards. The GPU in question is another version of the RTX 5080, but this time, it’s said to come with 24GB memory — a major upgrade over the base version. This could finally push it past the RTX 4090, but will it really happen?

Both leaks were spotted by VideoCardz, but surprisingly, MSI itself is the original source for both stories. First, the company posted a promotional video showcasing the RTX 5080 Vanguard GPU, and on the box, it’s advertised as “24GB GDDR7.” This is an extra 8GB VRAM over the RTX 5080 that’s currently available. Coincidentally, it’s also the exact same memory capacity as the RTX 4090.

Nvidia might once again delay the GPU gamers want most

Two RTX 4060 graphics cards stacked on top of each other.

If a GPU is yet to be announced, can we consider it to be delayed? Maybe, maybe not, but if you trust leakers, Nvidia’s upcoming best graphics cards for gamers on a budget are seemingly stuck in limbo. The RTX 5060 and the RTX 5060 Ti are said to be delayed once again, and gamers might have to wait for quite a long time to get their hands on one of the new RTX 50-series GPUs.

This grim update comes from Board Channels, which is a website frequented by people who claim to be affiliated with Nvidia’s add-in board (AIB) partners. According to the report, the RTX 5060 Ti (in both its iterations, meaning the 8GB and the 16GB models) will now launch in mid-April, followed by the RTX 5060 in mid-May. Nvidia is said to have notified its AIBs about these delays.

The price might not be the problem with Nvidia GPUs after all

European markets are seeing dips in prices of the Nvidia RTX 50-series GPUs as the exchange rate between the euro and the dollar has become stronger. This has allowed Nvidia to slash the prices of some of its current graphics cards by approximately five percent.

According to Videocardz, Nvidia has updated the pricing for its Germany sector webpage, changing the price of the RTX 5090 to €2,230 from its launch price of €2,330. The RTX 5080 has dropped from €1,170 to €1,120. The RTX 5070 has dropped from €650 to €620. Notably, the RTX 5070 Ti maintains its €880 pricing, likely because it is the only graphics card to be released without a Founders Edition variant.
