It was rumored that Samsung would launch the Galaxy Buds 3 before the end of this year. However, it looks like the company won’t call its next wireless earbuds the Galaxy Buds 3. It has now been revealed that Samsung’s upcoming wireless earbuds will be called the Galaxy Buds FE, and it could be launched alongside the Galaxy S23 FE and the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series later this year.

Our friends over at GalaxyClub have spotted information about the Galaxy Buds FE (model number SM-R400N) ahead of its launch. The Galaxy Buds FE will have the same case design as the Galaxy Buds 2 and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, featuring a rounded square shape and a USB Type-C port. However, the wireless earbuds seem to have wing tips similar to the ones found on the Galaxy Buds and the Galaxy Buds+, making them more stable in the ears.

As you can see in the images below, the Galaxy Buds FE’s case appears in white, which means they will be available in this color variant. The case features charging and battery indicator LEDs (inside and outside), charging contacts for the earbuds, and an indent to open the case. The case seems to have a glossy finish, similar to the Galaxy Buds 2. In comparison, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro has a matte finish on its case.

The Galaxy Buds FE earbuds, thanks to their wingtips, look slightly like the Galaxy Buds+. They have four microphones in total (two on the left earbud and two on the right earbud), a wear detection sensor, and silicon ear tips). The earbuds will come with two wingtip sizes: S/M and M/L. It isn’t clear whether the Galaxy Buds FE features wireless charging or advanced features like Samsung Seamless Codec Hi-Fi.

It would be logical for Samsung to offer a dual-driver for the Galaxy Buds FE, along with Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and the AAC and Samsung Seamless audio codecs. We can also expect these upcoming wireless earbuds to feature some sort of water resistance. Apart from white, the Galaxy Buds FE could come in more colors. The earbuds are already listed on Samsung’s website for support documents.
