Samsung has a tri-fold phone in the pipeline that it’s expected to launch at some point later this year. Some details have surfaced about the device so far but much of it still remains a mystery.

The company itself hasn’t revealed any details about the device so far. A new rumor claims that the first tri-fold phone from Samsung will have a titanium frame and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.

Samsung may launch the tri-fold later this year

The latest rumors from the X echo chamber suggest that the tri-fold is going to have a durable frame that utilizes both titanium and aluminum for strength. Durability will be top of mind for customers who buy this phone so Samsung does need to ensure that it holds up to the rigors of daily use.

It’s also claimed that the device will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, most likely the Snapdragon 8 Elite, if the tri-fold phone is coming out this year. This is Qualcomm’s current flagship chipset and would be the obvious choice for this premium device. 16GB RAM may be available as standard.

Lastly, it’s claimed that the foldable panel won’t have an under-display camera. This won’t surprise anyone, as Samsung is likely doing away with the under-display camera on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 as well.

It remains to be seen if Samsung talks more about this device at the Unpacked event next month where it will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. Perhaps it may tease the device or reveal some information about it like it did for the Galaxy S25 Edge at the first Unpacked event of the year.
