Galaxy A25 leaked camera specs reflect Samsung’s hardware strategy

The upcoming Galaxy A25 hasn’t been much in the news lately. Early rumors speculated that the phone might never come out, but later ones have lent more credibility to the idea that Samsung isn’t ready to give up on its low-cost Galaxy A phones. Now, we got some Galaxy A25 camera details to share.

Samsung seems to have reached a point where most Galaxy phones don’t completely overhaul their camera hardware every year. And this strategy applies to low-cost and premium phones. Samsung is more focused than ever on improving the camera experience through optimization and AI. Because there’s so much room left for improvement through software, hardware upgrades have become rarer.

The unannounced Galaxy A25 might be in the same boat. According to new findings from our friends at GalaxyClub, the Galaxy A25 might share at least two sensors with the ongoing Galaxy A24 4G model.

Galaxy A25 to have the same primary and selfie cameras

These recent findings indicate that the Galaxy A25 will be equipped with a 50MP primary camera, similar to the Galaxy A24 4G. Likewise, the 2024 model will feature a 13MP selfie camera.

Although the phone has been in development since at least early spring under model number SM-A256E, Samsung might release it next year. Interestingly enough, as of now, there’s no evidence of the European (SM-A256B) and other models being in the works. But there’s plenty of time left for them to show up eventually.

For reference, the Galaxy A24 4G was released in May 2023, which could mean that the Galaxy A25 sequel is still many months away, with plenty of details and specs left to uncover.

Primary and selfie sensors aside, it remains to be determined if the Galaxy A25 will borrow the rest of its camera configuration from its predecessor. If it does, Samsung will combine the 50MP primary camera with a 5MP ultra-wide shooter and a 2MP macro sensor.
