Earlier this month, we learned that the top-end mode in Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, will feature 45W wired charging. Now, we have information about the charging speeds of the other two phones in the series, the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+.
Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ see no charging upgrades
The China Compulsory Certification (CCC) authority has recently certified two unannounced Samsung smartphones. They have model numbers SM-S9310 (Galaxy S25) and SM-9360 (Galaxy S25+).
According to the certification, the Galaxy S25 has up to 25W (9V and 2.77A) fast charging. The Galaxy S25+ supports charging speeds of up to 45W (15V and 3A), similar to previous-generation Ultra models. Current-generation phones, the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+ have 25W and 45W charging speeds, respectively.
Both phones, similar to existing Samsung phones, likely support USB PD charging with the Programmable Power Supply (PPS) feature, which offers more control over charging and theoretically keeps the temperature in control compared to just having USB PD.

It is a bit disappointing to see that Samsung is far behind other Android brands in this aspect. Even Apple has now caught up with Samsung by offering 45W charging on its iPhone 16 lineup. In fact, by January 2025, the new iPhones will have faster charging speeds than the base Galaxy S25, which is still stuck at 25W.
