It’s no secret that Samsung believes AI will drive its product portfolio into a new era. Throughout 2024, the company implemented AI features into almost every device, from Galaxy phones to Bespoke home appliances.
Now, Samsung is reportedly planning on making it easier for future Galaxy Tab S10 and DeX users to access its Galaxy AI suite. The company has invented a dedicated AI Key.
As most of you know, Samsung sells Bluetooth keyboards for DeX, Windows, and Mac, along with Keyboard Covers for people who want to turn their high-end Galaxy tablets into DeX-powered laptop replacements.
Now that the unannounced Galaxy Tab S10 series is on its way, a new leak (via WinFuture) suggests that Samsung will integrate a dedicated AI Key into its future Bluetooth keyboards and Keyboard Covers. It looks something like this.
The image above is a mockup but shows what Samsung’s so-called AI Key might look like. It has the Galaxy AI logo and might sit between the space bar and the right-hand Alt key on the Galaxy Tab S10 Keyboard Cover accessory.
Single or multi-purpose AI Key
Recent leaks indicate that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 lineup will consist of two models instead of three, i.e., a Galaxy Tab S10+ and an Ultra variant.
The two remaining Tab S10 models will be compatible with new optional keyboard accessories. The AI Key might be the biggest thing that will differentiate the latest keyboard attachments from the ones we already have.
While it seems to make sense for Samsung to create a dedicated AI Key, considering how much Samsung is betting on its Galaxy AI suite, it’s unclear how exactly this button will work.
Will the AI Key have a single preset function? And if so, which one will it be? Or will users be able to link whichever Galaxy AI function they want to the AI Key? Time will tell.
The story continues after the video
It’s also worth noting that the AI Key likely won’t be added without replacing an existing key. Judging by the mockup above, the AI Key might replace the “Lang” button.
The latter exists on Samsung keyboards and keyboard covers for the Galaxy Tab S9 series and older. When pressed, this button changes between different input languages. And by the looks of it, this functionality might be sacrificed in favor of Galaxy AI.
