It appears Samsung is finally going to release an FE version of one of its foldables, and new reports indicate the company has decided on a price. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE edition will reportedly come with high-end specs and will only cost around $750.
Samsung’s next foldables are expected in July, and a few teasers and rumors have already surfaced prior to official word from Samsung. It was suspected that Samsung may release a Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE model when CAD renders were released in March. Since then, things have been quiet regarding the Fan Edition.
According to new reports, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will carry a price tag of around $750 (via Sisa Journal). Initial estimates put the device at 1,000,000 won in Korea. A direct conversion isn’t always ideal, but it gives the right idea. With that price, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will be several hundred dollars less than the Z Flip 7, which is expected to launch at the same cost as the previous model.
The report goes on to corroborate other rumors regarding the phone’s specs. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 might pack Samsung’s Exynos 2500 SoC, rather than a Snapdragon chipset, even in the US. Samsung has been reliant on Qualcomm’s chips for the entirety of the Z Fold and Z Flip lineup. That might change for both the Z Flip 7 FE and the Z Flip 7. It doesn’t appear to be the case for the Z Fold 7.
It seems that Samsung also plans to pack the Galaxy Z Flip 7 with similar specs as the Flip 6, offering a similar camera, storage capacity, and battery size. It’s unclear what else might be different about the FE model in comparison to the more expensive, standard edition.
Samsung recently teased the Galaxy Z Fold 7, while referring to it as “Ultra” several times. What this means about the lineup is unknown, as it doesn’t appear Samsung is planning on making several Z Fold 7 models. All three devices are set to launch in July.
