Galaxy Z Flip 7 reportedly ‘confirmed’ to use Exynos 2500 in ‘most countries’

Rumors have been back and forth, but a new report claims that Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 will indeed run on top of the Exynos 2500 chip.

As far back as last year, rumors have been swirling that Samsung would ditch Snapdragon chips for the first time in its foldable lineup with the Galaxy Z Flip 7. But uncertainty has remained for a while amid issues with Samsung’s yield on the Exynos 2500.

SamMobile, citing its own sources, claims that Samsung has officially settled on using Exynos 2500 in the Galaxy Z flip 7, though not exclusively.

The report claims that chip will be used in “most countries,” including key markets such as South Korea and India. Samsung’s smartphones rarely use Exynos chips in North America, particularly the United States, even when they do in Korea, but it does sound like the door is open to a Snapdragon chip in the States.

The report adds that Exynos “might be a better choice” for the Flip 7 due to Snapdragon 8 Elite running on the warmer side, but that reasoning doesn’t explain why Samsung is still using Qualcomm’s chip in its much-thinner Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Whatever the case, we’ll find out the remaining details in July, when Samsung is rumored to launch its new foldables.
