Samsung’s foldables aren’t growing as quickly as the company hoped for, and apparently there are plans for a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip in 2025 alongside additional variants of the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Z Fold 7.
According to a new report surfacing from Lanzuk on Naver, Samsung has plans for three additions to its lineup in 2025. That starts with the Galaxy S25 “Slim” that was reported last week, alongside a “Galaxy Z Flip FE” and an additional variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The report was also backed up by @Jukanlosreve, and Max Jambor also mentioned there will be at least one additional foldable in Samsung’s lineup in 2025.
The Galaxy Z Flip is already the most affordable foldable in Samsung’s lineup, though the Galaxy Z Flip 6 did see a price increase to $1,099 this year. Meanwhile, other brands have been pushing the boundaries on price in this form factor, with the Motorola Razr (2024) costing just $699, and that’s when you don’t catch it on sale. So, from a competition standpoint, a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip in 2025 makes a lot of sense.
Samsung previously reiterated that it doesn’t have plans for a more affordable version of the Galaxy Z Fold form factor, but later hinted at a cheaper foldable option in an earnings call.
As mentioned, an additional Fold variant is also reportedly coming in 2025, though it’s unclear what that device might end up being. Samsung just released a “Special Edition” Fold in Korea and China which is thinner and has a bigger display compared to the Fold 6.
