Adobe and Google are partnering to bring Firefly, a collection of AI image tools, and Adobe Express into Google Bard. Firefly’s unique capabilities and training set it apart from other AI image generators.

Aa announced at today’s Google I/O keynote, you’ll be able to ask Bard to create images with Firefly using descriptive text prompts. Bard will respond with an image rather than text, similar to Bing Image Creator or Dall-E.

What makes Firefly different is that Adobe trained its AI model on licensed professional photos and images from Adobe Stock, as well as copyright-free material from the public domain and open license content. That greatly reduces the likelihood of legal challenges when using AI imagery for commercial purposes.

Adobe has plans to give Firefly more user control than most other AI image generators. Already it has a unique text styling feature that lets you type a word, choose a font, and use a text prompt to fill the outline with imagery. It’s quite impressive.

AI image generation is far from perfect, but Google’s Bard will also integrate Adobe Express, making it easy to make adjustments to a Firefly image. Adobe Express is an online image editor that includes the basics for free and runs in your browser.

Even the best AI creations can often benefit from some touch-ups to exposure and color. Adobe Express also offers sharing features to make it easy to post the final result on social media.

With Adobe Firefly and Adobe Express, Google’s Bard is leveling up to compete more strongly with generative AI solutions from OpenAI and others.

In particular, Firefly creations will have Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI) Content Credentials attached, with information about how the image was generated. This will help identify computer-generated content.

You can learn more about Firefly AI image creation on Adobe’s website.

This Samsung curved 27-inch monitor is $100 at Woot!

Samsung SD590C curved monitor hero 1

You don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars for a decent display for your desktop computer, as there are monitor deals like this $230 discount for the reconditioned 27-inch Samsung Essential curved monitor from Amazon’s Woot. Instead of its original price of $330, you’ll only have to pay a very affordable $100. There’s only a few days left on the offer though, and there’s even a chance that stocks get sold out before the timer runs out, so complete your purchase of the monitor as soon as you can.

Why you should buy the 27-inch Samsung Essential curved monitor
The size of the 27-inch Samsung Essential curved monitor sits right in the middle of our computer monitor buying guide’s recommended range of 24 inches to 30 inches, for the best balance of a screen that’s big enough to see small details but not too large that it will take up too much space on your desk. The latter is particularly true for this monitor, because its super slim design keeps its footprint to a minimum. The 1800R curvature on the monitor’s display leads to better immersion, as it creates a wider field of view, improves depth perception, and reduces distractions. The screen also matches the curve of the human eye for your viewing comfort, while Eye Saver Mode reduces blue light emissions to prevent eye fatigue.

Nvidia may launch 3 new GPUs, and they’re bad news for AMD

Google Bard can now create and edit images, thanks to Adobe | Digital Trends

An Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics card seen from the side.

In a surprising twist, Nvidia might be releasing not one, but three graphics cards. They all fall under the same RTX 4060 umbrella, although two of them are RTX 4060 Ti models.

This marks a strong entry into the midrange segment for Nvidia, with one of the cards addressing a significant concern — low VRAM. Should AMD be worried about losing even more business to Team Green?
