Over the past one and a half weeks, we’ve heard nothing but good news about Samsung’s upcoming One UI 7.0 update. Now, a new bit of leaked information has surfaced to make us feel even more hopeful about the potential of One UI 7.0.
Availability has yet to be officially confirmed, but Samsung should release One UI 7.0 on select phones before the end of the year. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will be among the first to get the update, and the good news is that Samsung might be working on vastly improving the camera experience.
Higher visual clarity coming to more shooting modes
One UI 7.0 will significantly optimize a few shooting modes for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, according to @UniverseIce. The source says the 1x and 5x 50MP modes for the primary and telephoto cameras, respectively, will boast the same picture quality as pixel-binned 12MP photos.
Capturing photos in the 12MP (pixel-binned) mode with the Galaxy S24 Ultra generally delivers better clarity, colors, and dynamic range. With One UI 7.0, the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 1x 50MP primary mode and 5x 50MP telephoto mode will supposedly match that level of detail and quality.

So far, One UI 7.0 appears to be a lot more important for Samsung than past firmware updates may have been in recent years. With the release of Galaxy AI, the company appears to be leaning even further into improving the user experience through better software.
Other changes One UI 7.0 is said to bring include better UI animations, numerous redesigned Samsung app icons, a reworked quick toggle area, new home screen customization options, and even a few iOS-like qualities.
Later this year, Samsung should release One UI 7.0 for select devices through a beta program in key markets. Meanwhile, Samsung is also expected to roll-out the One UI 6.1.1 update to more devices.
