While we’re still waiting on Samsung to resume its One UI 7 rollout, leaks keep rolling in regarding One UI 8, the Android 16 update for Galaxy devices. Another hands-on leak provides additional detail as to what’s new in Samsung’s next release.
One UI 8 leaked earlier this week to show off an update that appears remarkably minor, and now SamMobile has obtained a build of that update for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 which offers a bit more detail as to what’s new.
As in the previous leak, One UI 8 is fairly barren as far as new design changes go. But this leak does offer some more detail regarding new features. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 gets Now Brief, a feature that’s so-far still exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series, as well as Log support in the camera app for video, a format which gives better flexibility to editors.
Other tweaks are found in other Samsung apps. The File Manager gets a translucent new menu and an updated “added recently” section while Quick Share gets a two-tab design for “Receive” and “Send.”
It really is looking like One UI 8 will be largely about refinement and under-the-hood changes, but that’s probably something that’s needed after such a major redesign in One UI 7.
SamMobile also has a video overview of the new changes.
