Samsung has some price changes in mind for its next smartwatch and foldable series, with an unexpected price cut for Galaxy Z Flip 7, while increasing the price for the Galaxy Watch 8.
According to WinFuture, Samsung has plans to leave the pricing on Galaxy Z Fold 7 unchanged from the Fold 6. While there are a ton of improvements coming to this next generation, that decision feels fair, as the Fold 6’s price increase didn’t really feel earned based on the competition. It remains to be seen if this is true, though, as a previous retail leak suggested a considerable price bump. In Germany, the price would be €1,999, the same starting price as last year.
Galaxy Z Flip 7, meanwhile, might see a price decrease should this leak prove to be true. The report claims a starting price of €1,099, down from €1,199. It’s hard to say if that will directly translate in the US where the current price is $1,099, but it’s good news for customers in Europe nonetheless.
Finally, this report also hints at a more expensive Galaxy Watch 8.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) will reportedly stick at its same €699 price in Germany ($649 in US), but the Galaxy Watch 8 series will see a price bump. In particular, the base Galaxy Watch 8 will see a “€40-50” jump, a change attributed to the doubling of internal storage among other upgrades. Similarly, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic may cost €500, up from €449 on the prior Classic release.
As usual, it’s hard to see if these would directly translate in other regions. Currently, Galaxy Watch 7 starts at $299.
Samsung’s launch event is scheduled for July 9.
