Report: Galaxy Z Flip 7 will still use Snapdragon 8 Elite in the US

While Samsung is apparently planning to use its Exynos chips in the Galaxy Z Flip 7 for the first time, the company will still use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite in the US version of the foldable.

There’s been a lot of back and forth over the past few months, but it’s abundantly clear at this point that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be Samsung’s first foldable using Exynos processors. This was thought to be a move that would include all versions of the flip phone, but the latest reporting suggests otherwise.

Hankung, a Korean media outlet, reports that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will use a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor in North America, including the US, while the version of the device sold in Korea will use an Exynos 2500 chipset (h/t @Jukanlosreve)

As previously reported on several occasions, Galaxy Z Fold 7 will still use Snapdragon 8 Elite globally.

Samsung is set to launch its new foldables in July.
