Samsung Galaxy A55 was introduced in India in March of this year, alongside the Galaxy A35 5G. Both devices operate on Android 14 with One UI 6.1 pre-installed. They are promised four generations of Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates. Samsung is expected to introduce its One UI 7 software update, which will be built on the upcoming Android 15, in the following year.

I just realised that the frame of the Galaxy A55 is a semi-glossy brushed Aluminium instead of purely matte Aluminium like the Galaxy S24 and S24+.

This is quite nice, actually.

Recently, the Galaxy A55 was identified on a benchmarking platform with the Android 15 update, prior to the official release of Samsung’s One UI 7 beta. The device, identified by the model number Samsung SM-A556E, appeared on Geekbench, indicating it is running Android 15.

This phone will incorporate a One UI skin, as is typical for Samsung devices. In benchmark tests, it achieved scores of 1,161 for single-core performance and 3,369 for multi-core performance.

It is essential to emphasize that the forthcoming flagship Samsung Galaxy S25 series is anticipated to be the inaugural line to obtain the stable release of One UI 7, which is based on Android 15. The Samsung Galaxy A55 is likely to be among the first mid-range smartphones to receive this update.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 features a 6.6-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display, offering a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, all protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+.

It is equipped with a 4nm Exynos 1480 SoC developed in-house, alongside options for up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device is powered by a robust 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W wired fast charging.

Tried the new Samsung Galaxy A55.

Finally, a good value (at least for us here in Indonesia).

I have to be honest, most of the upgrades might be in software optimisation, that “Knox” thing, and Exynos 1480 itself. Other areas are mostly the same. pic.twitter.com/B6jSv1dOS5 — Alvin (@sondesix) March 15, 2024

In terms of photography, the Galaxy A55 boasts a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 5-megapixel macro lens. Additionally, it is fitted with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
