Samsung and cloud gaming platform Blacknut have partnered to introduce a new way for Gaming Hub users to experience gaming on their Samsung smart TVs. The companies are launching the Free Game Pilot feature to allow Hub users try out the Blacknut service before they can decide if it’s worth diving deeper into cloud gaming.

Most of you probably know how Gaming Hub works by now, but just in case you’re new, Gaming Hub is a service available on select Samsung TVs in key markets. It’s an app that aggregates different cloud-based gaming platforms, including Xbox Game Pass, Amazon Luna, GeForce Now, Antstream, Utomik, and Blacknut. It enables gaming on Samsung TVs without a console or a PC.

Gaming Hub is free, but the cloud gaming services it hosts are subscription-based, and each has its own business model and fees. Blacknut is now making it easier for Gaming Hub users to test its service through the Free Game Pilot feature, which will offer free access to eleven games for the next three months.

Story continues after the video

Gaming Hub, in partnership with Blacknut, will allow users to try the service for free for three months without asking for a subscription or even a sign-in. The eleven games available for free are:

  • Overcooked! 2
  • Asphalt 9: Legends
  • For The King
  • Arise: A Simple Story
  • Golazo! Soccer League
  • Despicable Me: Minion Rush
  • I Am Fish
  • WRC 9: The Official Game
  • Cat Quest
  • Moving Out
  • Pile Up! Box by Box

Samsung’s Gaming Hub makes gaming accessible to all

Samsung smart TV users in markets where Gaming Hub is available can play quality games directly on their TVs without connecting to a PC or gaming console. All they need is an active internet connection and a gaming controller. The Xbox and PlayStation controllers are great choices. They will have to be purchased separately.

This new program launched by Gaming Hub and Blacknut really makes gaming more accessible on Samsung TVs, as it doesn’t require a subscription or a sign-in to start gaming. It’s never been easier to try gaming on Samsung TVs, and it’s only a shame that Gaming Hub is not available in more markets.

It’s a great time for Samsung to launch this initiative with Blacknut because many new TV customers are just now joining the user base thanks to deals and discounts. Samsung has attractive TV deals lined up throughout November and the holiday season. If you’re looking for a new TV, now might be the time to buy one.

Editor’s Note: To try to clear up some confusion, Samsung recently renamed the Game Launcher mobile app to Gaming Hub, but it has little to do with the Gaming Hub platform on smart TVs.
