TL;DR
- Google has announced the Flow AI moviemaking tool at its I/O conference.
- This tool lets you create video clips and scenes using your own or generated assets.
- Flow is only available via Google’s AI Pro and AI Ultra subscriptions.
Video generation is the latest frontier in generative AI, and everyone from Google to OpenAI has launched this tech. Now, Google has gone a step further and announced an AI moviemaking tool.
Google launched the Flow AI moviemaking tool at its I/O developer conference, and the company describes it as an evolution of its VideoFX lab experiment. Either way, this will allow you to create video clips and scenes with the aid of Google’s Veo video generator. You can import your own assets into Flow or synthesize them with Google’s Imagen image generator.
Flow has a variety of features, starting with camera controls. The company says you have control over “camera motion, angles, and perspectives.” The tool also has a so-called Scenebuilder feature to edit and “extend” your existing shots. Google is also offering a Flow TV feature. This is effectively a showcase of content generated by its Veo video generator while also including the prompts/techniques used to create them.
Keen on trying Flow? Google says the tool is now available in the US via Google’s AI Pro and brand-new AI Ultra subscriptions. The company says that the moviemaking tool is “coming soon” to more countries. Google AI Pro subscribers get 100 generations per month, while Ultra subscribers get unlimited generations and early access to the Veo 3 video generator.
Speaking of Veo 3, Google used I/O to announce this upgraded video generator as well. The big upgrade this time is that it now supports native audio generation, which can be generated via text prompts. Veo 3 is available to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US and can be accessed via Flow or the Gemini app.
