If you love the idea that the upcoming Galaxy S25 series might get a unified experience powered by a single chipset worldwide, in the end, you might not be disappointed.
So far, many leakers have gone back and forth on the matter and claimed many things about Samsung’s possible chip choice for the Galaxy S25 series.
Some said Samsung may use a MediaTek chip in some regions. Others said Samsung will use a similar two-chip Exynos-Snapdragon strategy as it did for the Galaxy S24 series. Recent Geekbench entries still support that notion.
And some, like Ice Universe, proclaimed that every Galaxy S25 model in the lineup will have the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip worldwide.
So, what is the ultimate truth? Who knows?! We’ll find out early next year, possibly in late January. But until then, @UniverseIce remains confident in his original claim. A few hours ago, the source reiterated the following on X:
“All versions of the Galaxy S25 series in the world adopt Snapdragon 8 Elite, and will not adopt Exynos.”
If you already have an idea of how powerful the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip is from the official announcement, you’re probably getting your Galaxy S25 hype back on right about now. Assuming you lost some steam in recent weeks.

Then again, hype is a double-edged sword, and if things don’t go according to these expectations, you might be even more disappointed down the line. Things look promising but remember that, in the end, nothing is certain unless Samsung says it is.
Nevertheless, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip is pretty bonkers, according to preliminary performance figures. And although a Snapdragon-only lineup might be bad news for Samsung’s Exynos chip-making arm, such a strategy would most likely boost the popularity of the upcoming Galaxy S25 series by a lot.
TM Roh already visited Qualcomm at its Snapdragon 8 Elite launch event to shake hands with the chip maker’s executives and presumably strike a chip deal for the S25.
