Samsung’s S series of flagship smartphones might be the best-known Android lineup in the galaxy (pun intended, of course). We’re hotly anticipating what the company intends to do with 2025’s lineup so we’ve been keeping our ears to the ground for any leaks that might drop.
If you’ve been very concerned about what Samsung plans to do with the batteries next year, then the answer is here for you. The battery capacities for the entire S25 family has been leaked by a reliable source, along with how thick each of the phones is going to be, so let’s dive into that.
Each Phone In The Samsung Galaxy S25 Lineup Will Have The Same Battery Capacity As Their S24 Counterparts
If there’s a source that is always to be believed when it comes to Samsung leaks, it is Ice Universe on X. His information is essentially always accurate and he specializes in Samsung leaks and rumors, so there’s no better place source. Today, the reputable tipster just let us in on the battery capacities for each of the members of the S25 family.
If you were expecting Samsung to do something groundbreaking with its batteries (the way Oppo, OnePlus, and other companies utilizing silicon battery tech have been doing), then this certainly isn’t the year for you. Every single device in the upcoming flagship range is going to have a battery capacity that is identical to what the current devices are toting.
To be exact, that’s a 4,000 mAh battery in the Galaxy S25, 4,900 mAh in the S25+, and 5,000 mAh in the S25 Ultra. That’s not great, considering many Chinese manufacturers are pushing themselves to embrace larger battery capacities, but as long as Samsung is able to optimize and produce great battery life regardless, there shouldn’t be too many complaints. We’ve already heard that they plan to use the power of AI to improve on that.
To Its Credit, Samsung Is Keeping The Battery Capacities Consistent While Slimming Down Each Device
Along with the leaked battery capacities, Ice Universe has also revealed the thickness of each of the upcoming flagships. I thought we had reached equilibrium with the average flagship’s thickness, but Samsung seems to want to do more. The Galaxy S25 will be only 7.2mm thick, the S25+ will be minimally thicker than it at 7.3mm, and the S25 Ultra, quite naturally, will be 8.2mm — fitting that S Pen in there isn’t easy.
This marks an equal 0.4mm being shaved off each of these devices, which is hardly insubstantial. In fact, it is quite impressive that Samsung was able to do that while maintaining the batteries inside each of the phones. It does mean that if Samsung does choose to increase its battery sizes in the future, we might have to endure a generation where the thicknesses go up again.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Is Expected In January 2025
There’s no official news on when we can expect the first Samsung Unpacked event of 2025, but knowing the South Korean manufacturer, Late January is the likely time for the event, especially going by the last two release cycles. I personally can’t wait to see the portfolio unveiled in full; hopefully, Samsung has some surprises for us.
Through Tecno, Gionee, Vivo, Google, and now Samsung, Ayomide has always been an Android enthusiast. His current partner in crime is a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. You can find him playing Candy Crush or Call of Duty: Mobile, watching movies, and he is a big fan of trivia and quizzes.
