TL;DR
- Samsung has launched the new Galaxy Buds FE earbuds for $99.
- These new earbuds come with a different earbud design with wingtips, ANC support, and the longest battery life in the Buds lineup.
- They also come with Samsung ecosystem features such as quick pairing and auto-switching.
Samsung offers a few options under the Galaxy Buds lineup, but even the seemingly “entry-level” Galaxy Buds 2 can set you back by $150. Interested consumers on a tighter budget can explore other great options for wireless earbuds, but Samsung wants to offer one more choice in the form of the Galaxy Buds FE, sitting below the Galaxy Buds 2.
The new Galaxy Buds FE are an inspiration over the original Galaxy Buds design, but taking the case design from the newer earbuds in Samsung’s lineup. Many people have found the Buds 2 Pro and Buds 2 to be on the larger side with their bulbous earbud shape, so these new earbuds give more options to consumers with a flatter design.

The wingtips make a comeback with the Buds FE, so the earbuds should sit securely in your ears across a broader range of movement. There are two sizes of wingtips and three sizes of eartips available with this earbud.
The Galaxy Buds FE come with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to cut out external noise and Ambient Sound for transparency mode. The earbuds have Bluetooth 5.2 BLE and three mics for clearer voice calls.
Samsung is also touting the Buds FE to have the longest battery life in its Buds series. The company promises up to eight and a half hours of playback on the earbuds and up to 30 hours of total playback with the case. The numbers go down to six and 21 hours, respectively, with ANC usage.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE
If you are within the Samsung ecosystem, the Galaxy Buds FE will pair quickly with a single tap. The earbuds also support auto-switching between Galaxy devices as long as you are signed into the same Samsung account on your devices. You can also get a notification if you leave your earbuds behind through SmartThings Find, and activate Lost Mode.
As a bummer, though, the Galaxy Buds FE are only rated for IPX2 water resistance, which protects them against light sweat but nothing more. And to keep the pricing low, they also skip out on wireless charging for the case.
