Quick Points
- So, the OnePlus 15 is really shaping up to be sleek, right? They’ve switched out that round camera layout for a square one with three cameras plus an LED flash.
- What’s interesting is that they’ve also made the bezels super thin at just 1.15mm; they're about 40% thinner than what came with the OnePlus 13!
- They've introduced a new Shortcut Key on the side instead of the classic alert slider – looks like they’re mixing things up on the software side too.
- And, as expected, it's packing the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, which should give it some serious performance boosts.
- The launch seems imminent in obviously, China next month, but we’re all waiting to see when it’ll hit global markets.
The OnePlus 15 design has been officially confirmed, showing a shift from a round to a square camera island with three cameras and an LED flash. The phone features a flat back with rounded corners, ultra-thin 1.15mm uniform bezels on the front, and a new Shortcut Key replacing the alert slider. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the device will launch in China next month, with a global release expected soon after.
OnePlus has confirmed the design of its upcoming flagship, the OnePlus 15. This confirmation came from both the Snapdragon Summit 2025 and the company’s Weibo account, in a way.
Before we get to that, however, let’s just say that the OnePlus 15 name has been confirmed yesterday. OnePlus also confirmed that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor will fuel the device, Qualcomm’s brand-new flagship chip.
The OnePlus 15 design has been offiically revealed, both its front and back sides
With that being said, during the Snapdragon Summit, OnePlus showed us the back side of the phone, as Phone Arena reported. You can see that image below. It turns out that the latest leaked real-life images were spot on.

You can see that the phone is ditching the round camera island. It will have a squarish one now, in the top-left corner of its back. The back side will be flat, other than the camera island, while the corners of the phone will be slightly rounded.
You will also notice that three cameras are placed inside that camera island, along with an LED flash. There are three cutouts in there, two circular ones, and one pill-shaped one, to accommodate all that.
The new ‘Shortcut Key’ is visible here
On the right side of the phone, you can clearly see the power/lock button and the volume up and down buttons. On the left-hand side, there is a multifunctional ‘Shortcut Key’ which is replacing the alert slider. We’ve already seen it on the OnePlus 13T and OnePlus 13s.
What about the phone’s front side? Well, that was confirmed by OnePlus China. You can see the image of the device below. You’ll notice that its bezels are very thin and uniform. They’ll be around 40% thinner than the ones on the OnePlus 13, as OnePlus confirmed the thinness of 1.15mm.

The OnePlus 15 is expected to launch in China at some point next month. The device is coming to global markets too, but we’re still not sure when. It could launch in January just like the OnePlus 13, but OnePlus could also change its mind and launch it early.

Sounds Nerdy Insights
- Those design changes – specifically the move from a round to square camera layout – could be an attempt by OnePlus to align its aesthetics more closely with other flagship phones. It's definitely creating buzz!
- Now, those ultra-thin bezels aren't just about looking cool; they can frankly, significantly affect user experience by maximizing screen real estate. The less bezel means more screen for gaming or watching videos. Can you imagine?
- Switching from an alert slider to a Shortcut Key feels like a risky move. The alert slider has been quite loved and it's such an iconic part of OnePlus DNA. This makes me wonder if users might resist this change or find a use for the new functionality.
- With the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor in play, we're talking about some next-level performance here whispers of faster app loading times and snappier gaming experiences are sure to get some gamers’ attention. That’s promising for early adopters!
- Pricing will be a big factor too—OnePlus typically positions itself as a flagship-killer in terms of value—balancing premium specs with reasonable price points is crucial if they want to keep that reputation intact!
- Plus, the timing of their release strategies can really impact market competition; we'll have to see how it aligns with competitors launching around the same timeframe which could either help or hinder their market share!
- Overall, I’m curious how folks will react once they start getting hands-on experiences, especially since consumer tech vibes are always shifting so rapidly nowadays. Are people ready for these tweaks or will there be pushback?
