It seems like the HONOR Magic7 series of flagship smartphones will launch earlier than expected. This information comes from a well-known tipster, Digital Chat Station.
The tipster went to Weibo to say that the HONOR Magic7 series will arrive in October. That is basically two to three months early. The HONOR Magic6 series launched in January this year.
The trusted tipster also said that the HONOR Magic7 series will make use of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (whose name could be the Snapdragon 8 Elite after all), as expected. HONOR probably made this change so that it can compete more directly with a number of other flagships.
Every year, Xiaomi, Vivo, OPPO, and OnePlus do their best to launch their new flagship offerings as close to a new flagship Snapdragon chip launch as possible. Well, HONOR will do that this year too.
Two Magic7 devices are expected to arrive next month
We are expecting to see two HONOR Magic7 series smartphones announced next month. The HONOR Magic7 and HONOR Magic7 Pro are expected. Well, at least if HONOR ends up sticking to a smartphone lineup logic from this year.
Based on current-gen models, both of those smartphones will end up utilizing Qualcomm’s new flagship chip. A 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50H camera is also mentioned in rumors, as is a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. We’re not sure about the third camera.
There will also be some differences in the camera setups on the HONOR Magic7 and HONOR Magic7 Pro. We’re still not sure what setups exactly we’ll get, these are just rumors.
OLED displays are expected on both smartphones, though the Magic7 Pro is expected to pull ahead in that area too. An ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner is expected, and the same goes for advanced facial scanning (at least on the ‘Pro’ model).
