A couple of days ago Huawei’s chairman accidentally confirmed the launch date of the company’s new flagship series. Well, Huawei just made the launch date officially official, the Huawei Mate70 series is coming on November 26.
The devices will launch in China, though a global launch is expected at a later date. With that being said, Huawei also shared the design of one of its Mate70 series phones. Well, a partial design, if you will.
If you check out the image below, you’ll see the device in the flesh. This is either the Huawei Mate70 Pro or Mate70 Pro+. The power/lock and volume up and down buttons are located on the right-hand side here. That camera oreo on the back is difficult to miss.
Huawei also showed us a piece of one of the devices
Three cameras will sit inside the camera island, including a periscope telephoto camera. A fourth cutout is reserved for a mysterious sensor, while the XMAGE branding is visible here too, as is the LED flash.
That camera island will protrude on the back a bit, it seems. You’ll also notice that the frame of the phone is not flat, Huawei opted for a slightly rounded frame. The backplate of the device seems to have an interesting pattern too.
This backplate looks like it has a paper finish to it. Looks are deceiving, though, so this could easily be glass with a pattern underneath it or something like that. We’ll have to wait and see. Gray and Green colors are shown here, though.
At least three different models are coming
The Huawei Mate70, Mate70 Pro, and Mate70 Pro+ handsets are expected. The Mate70 and Mate70 Pro will offer up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Hyacinth Purple, Obsidian Black, Snow White, and Spruce Green colors have been mentioned.
In regards to the Huawei Mate70 Pro+, the device will come in Blue, Feather White, Gold with Silver, and Ink Black colors. It will offer up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. The Mate70 RS series is also expected, though.
The Huawei Mate70 Pro is expected to offer a 6.88-inch 1.5K 120Hz quad-curved screen. 3D facial scanning is also expected, as is a 50-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and variable aperture. A 50-megapixel ultrawide camera (1/2.5-inch sensor, 3.5x optical zoom) will also be included.
