The vivo X90 family is expecting a new member, this time with Dimensity 9200+ chipset. After appearing on the Google Play Console yesterday it’s now in the crosshairs of Chinese prolific leakster Digital Chat Station. According to what he reveals, the S version will be a pretty minor update in terms of hardware with the chipset being the only notable change.

The vivo X90S is expected to come with a 3.35 GHz CPU and Wi-Fi 7 support, courtesy of Mediatek’s new SoC. It will keep the 6.78” OLED with curved edges and 1260p resolution. The panel will once again be made by BOE.

The leakster claimed the main camera will have a 50MP Sony IMX866 sensor, which is the same in the current vivo X90, and it will be accompanied by the in-house V2 ISP. Charging speed will also remain unchanged at 120W. The move to Dimensity 9300 will be made with the vivo X100 series, scheduled for November 2023.

The battery capacity on the X90 was 4,810 mAh. We don’t know if vivo will repeat the vivo X60 and vivo X60s generation, where the S model brought a bigger battery.
