OnePlus launched the OnePlus Ace 2 in China last month, and this was the OnePlus 11R with a new name for its home market. Now, the Chinese brand has announced the OnePlus Ace 2V.

The OnePlus Ace 2V is effectively a cheaper OnePlus Ace 2/OnePlus 11R, and it makes a few changes to reach this lower price point. For starters, the company has swapped out the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor for the still-beefy MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset.

OnePlus is also opting for a flat OLED screen here compared to the 11R’s curved panel. Otherwise, it’s still a 6.74-inch 120Hz display coming in at 2,772 x 1,240.

We’ve also got the same 5,000mAh battery here, but the OnePlus Ace 2V drops the maximum wired charging speed from 100W to a still-nippy 80W. You’re still not getting wireless top-ups here, but at least the charger is in the box.

We also see a major downgrade in the camera category, as the OnePlus 11R’s 50MP IMX890 main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) makes way for an unnamed 64MP primary camera without OIS. You’ve still got an 8MP ultrawide shooter and 2MP macro lens though, as well as a 16MP selfie snapper. Needless to say, we’d expect shakier video footage and less impressive low-light snaps from the Ace 2V’s primary lens owing to the lack of stabilization hardware.

The new phone also offers a different design compared to the OnePlus 11R. More specifically, you’re looking at flat edges and two circular camera housings complete with what looks like two flash modules. It all makes for a very distinctive design compared to the OnePlus 11R, which takes after the OnePlus 11.

Other OnePlus Ace 2V features include AGC DT-Star2 protective glass up-front, an alert slider, Bluetooth 5.3, dual speakers, Color OS 13 atop Android 13, an IR blaster, NFC, an under-display fingerprint sensor, and Wi-Fi 6.

All of these changes mean that the OnePlus Ace 2V starts at 2,299 yuan (~$332) for the base 12GB/256GB model. That makes it significantly cheaper than the OnePlus Ace 2, which starts at 2,799 yuan (~$404).

We’ve asked OnePlus whether the phone will be available (with its original name or otherwise) outside China and will update the article if the company gets back to us. For what it’s worth, tipster Max Jambor previously claimed this phone could launch outside China as the OnePlus Nord 3.
