OnePlus V Fold might borrow some design cues from Oppo – Phandroid

We know that OnePlus is working on a foldable phone and that they plan to launch it in the second half of the year. This was confirmed in an interview earlier this year with OnePlus COO Kinder Liu who spoke to TechCrunch. But the question is, what will the phone look like?

It turns out we might have already seen it, sort of. According to a report from 91mobiles who published an article based on a tip from Yogesh Brar, it seems that the upcoming OnePlus V Fold could be taking design cues from Oppo’s foldable phones. The report claims that the OnePlus V Fold is expected to share the same design as the upcoming Oppo Find N3.

For those wondering how this is possible, both Oppo and OnePlus are owned by the same parent company and have worked together in the past, so this shouldn’t be too surprising. The report also claims that the cameras on the OnePlus V Fold will also be borrowed from the Oppo Find X6 which features a circular camera module with cameras designed with Hasselblad, so that should be interesting.

We’re not sure how the phones are supposed to be different from each other if they sport the same design. Presumably both the OnePlus V Fold and Oppo Find N3 will use similar flagship hardware, so if there are differences, it will most likely come in the form of software. OnePlus hasn’t confirmed a launch date yet so take this with a grain of salt and hopefully the company will have more details to share in the coming months.
