OPPO announced its new Find X8 and Find X8 Pro flagships in China recently, while their global launch followed yesterday. With that being said, the ‘Ultra’ model of the device is coming too. The OPPO Find X8 Ultra is coming next year, while its camera sensors and launch month have just been tipped.
This information comes from Sperandio4Tech, and has been reshared by Sanju Choudhary. Do take the info with a grain of salt, as this is not exactly one of the best-known sources out there, so we’re not sure.
In any case, the source claims that the OPPO Find X8 Ultra will have four 50-megapixel cameras on the back. That is not surprising at all, and it’s actually expected. The Find X8 Pro does too. The Ultra’s cameras will be different, however.
The main 50-megapixel camera will use Sony’s LYT-900 camera sensor. That’s a 1-inch camera sensor which was also used on the Find X7 Ultra. The Find X8 Pro, for comparison’s sake, uses a 1/1.4-inch camera sensor.
The 50-megapixel ultrawide camera will utilize Sony’s IMX882 sensor. The remaining two units will be periscope telephoto cameras. The 3x one will use Sony’s LYT-701 sensor (75mm lens), it seems, while the 6x one will make use of the Sony IMX882 camera (150mm lens equivalent).
If that ends up being the case, both the main and ultrawide camera sensors will remain unchanged compared to the OPPO Find X7 Ultra, which is not a bad thing, at all. We wonder if variable aperture will come into play on the main camera.
The device will allegedly launch in March 2025
What about the launch timeframe? Well, the tipster did say that the Find X8 Ultra is coming in March next year. That is a bit odd, as the Find X7 Ultra launched in January this year, but… it’s possible. Perhaps OPPO plans to announce the device during MWC 2025, or something like that, we’ll see.
