Oppo Find X8 Ultra Will Have A Large Battery, 100W Charging – Talk Android

It’s a shame that Oppo’s Find series doesn’t get much coverage among general consumers looking for flagships. The Oppo Find X smartphones have been some of the best flagship options for several years in a row — the current Find X7 Ultra is an exceptional device.

Next up at the very top of the pecking order will be the Oppo Find X8 Ultra and we’re already getting hints on some of the specifications that we can expect from it. For one, it is expected to have a massive battery that breaks the 6,000 mAh threshold, and it’ll come with appropriate charging to juice it up fast.

The Oppo Find X8 Ultra Will Have 1,000 mAh More Battery Than Its Predecessor

The Oppo Find X7 Ultra is one of those smartphones that just can’t help but stand out from the crowd, even before you take a look at the spec sheet. It’s got a dual-material back, with vegan leather and glass, and a massive camera module in the center which looks rather distinctive (though admittedly rather obtrusive). And then when you finally get around to the specs, you discover a proper flagship device in every sense of the word.

Quite naturally, I’m excited to see what the next generation is going to bring with the Oppo Find X8 Ultra. We’ve already been fortunate enough to hear some leaks here and there, but a new one has presented itself thanks to esteemed Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station. He’s come forth with some exciting new info regarding the battery and charging speed of the upcoming flagship.

The battery in the Oppo Find X8 Ultra is going to be big, even by modern standards where manufacturers see 5,000 mAh as a standard figure for flagship cells. In fact, Oppo themselves settled for 5,000 mAh in the Find X7 Ultra, but that won’t be enough for them this time around. The Find X8 Ultra will push that up to a 6,000 mAh battery and the thought of that certainly puts a smile on my face.

There’s No Change In The Charging Speeds, But 100W Wired And 50W Wireless Is Still Rapid

However, it’s no fun having such a big battery and having to wait ages for it to be able to charge to full. We live in a time when 320W fast charging is being exhibited and as nice as it would be to charge a battery as large as this in 10 minutes or something, we’re not quite at a point where that’s standard.

The Oppo Find X7 Ultra had 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging, both of which are A-grade speeds for a flagship. That isn’t going to change with the Find X8 Ultra but I don’t think there’s any need to complain about that. The Find X7 Ultra gets a 100% charge in just 26 minutes, so with the bigger battery, you can probably just expect 10 minutes more for a full charge. That’s hardly inconvenient, I’d say.

The Oppo Find X8 Ultra will be one of the first phones to launch with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 and it could potentially launch before the end of the year. A global launch also seems to be on the table.
