The Xiaomi Chip Performance Dashboard could give you control over your phone’s CPU and GPU speeds. It would be similar to tweaking a gaming PC. This feature could finally bridge the gap between smartphone convenience and desktop-level performance tuning.

Tipster Kacper Skrzypek spotted early signs of this feature inside an Android 16 build. Based on the translated strings, it looks like Xiaomi wants to let users adjust the frequency and voltage of each CPU and GPU core group. Basically, this means you could overclock for more power or underclock for better battery life.

Right now, if you want to play around with CPU tuning on Android, you usually need mods. And yeah, that can get risky fast if you don’t know what you’re doing. A few gaming phones offer some performance modes, but they’re pretty niche. Xiaomi’s Chip Performance Dashboard could bring this flexibility to mainstream devices, making it way more accessible.

The feature seems to come with built-in safety checks, too. Some strings mention things like, “Passed startup check successfully. If issues occur, default preferences will be restored.” So, if you push your phone too hard, it should reset to normal to avoid any damage.

Still, don’t get too excited just yet. The Xiaomi Chip Performance Dashboard looks very early in development, and there’s no guarantee it’ll ship with Android 16. Fingers crossed we’ll see more leaks soon.
