OneXPlayer announces its latest handheld gaming PC, the Mini Pro, which is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 6800 APU, promising stellar performance.
OneXPlayer has announced the Mini Pro, an upcoming handheld gaming PC that will be available for pre-order starting on September 21. The device will come equipped with some of the most performant portable gaming hardware on the market and promises to outperform Valve’s Steam Deck in many respects. Early adopters of the Mini Pro will have the opportunity to get substantially better prices and free extra goodies for a limited time.
This particular Steam Deck competitor aims to deliver more performance than Valve’s own handheld currently does. OneXPlayer Mini Pro is going to be equipped with the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U, which features the onboard Radeon 680M graphics and support for LPDDR5 memory, making it an extremely powerful gaming device in a remarkably portable package. Mini Pro is going to be available in several configurations, with pre-order prices starting at $919 for the baseline model.
OneXPlayer Mini Pro comes jam-packed with high-end handheld hardware, starting with a 7-inch display with 1920×1200 resolution. It can support up to 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB of onboard NVME storage, though choosing this option also means paying $1269 with the 23% pre-order discount applied. A relatively small 48Wh battery powers the device, making battery life a potential point of contention for the Ryzen 7 APU. A major reason why the company is able to deliver such a comprehensive handheld PC gaming solution is that OneXPlayer is partially backed by Tencent, giving the company way more leeway in designing these devices than it otherwise would’ve had.

These features, combined with its improved hardware, suggest that it’s going to directly compete with the powerful AOKZOE A1 handheld, potentially leaving Valve’s own device behind when it comes to pure performance.
While Steam Deck increased interest in Linux gaming by the looks of it, OneXPlayer seemingly aims to stick with Windows OS for the foreseeable future, judging by its promotional materials. This means compatibility is likely to be a total non-issue for OneXPlayer Mini Pro, though users will be missing out on some of SteamOS’s more advanced gaming-centric features, such as the ability to lock the screen’s refresh rate at 40Hz for a balance between battery life and performance.
Interested gamers can pre-order OneXPlayer Mini Pro starting on September 21 with a $50 deposit. Doing so nets the buyer a special 23% discount, as well as a free docking station and a protective bag for the device. Those who’d like to get a safeguard in place, in case of QA problems and such, may need to wait until OneXPlayer clarifies how its warranty packages work. Whereas Valve now offers Steam Deck repair center services, OneXPlayer is unlikely to have the capacity for such assurances at this time.
