Honor held a big event in China where it unveiled the Porsche Design Magic6 RSR and Magic6 Ultimate smartphones. Alongside these, the brand also introduced two new wearables, dubbed Honor Watch GS 4 and Honor Band 9.

Let’s talk about the Honor Watch GS 4 first. The smartwatch packs a 1.43″ circular AMOLED screen of 466×466-pixel resolution and 326 ppi pixel density. It supports 8,000+ watchfaces and you can also create your own by uploading a picture from the connected device’s album.

The Honor Watch GS 4 is made of 316L stainless steel, with its Jasper Astrolabe (machine translated from Chinese) version having a gold-plated case. However, all models are 10.5mm thin and feature two physical buttons on the right side.

The Watch GS 4 comes with the usual slew of health and fitness features, including heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and stress and blood oxygen level measuring. It can also measure your blood pressure levels and detect atrial fibrillation.

Additionally, the Watch GS 4 supports 100+ indoor and outdoor sports modes, including 85 custom sports modes and 10+ professional sports modes.

The Honor Watch GS 4 is compatible with devices running Android 9 and above and iOS 11 and above. Honor hasn’t revealed the smartwatch’s battery capacity, but it’s advertised to have 14 days of endurance in a typical usage scenario, with a 5-minute charge offering a whole day’s worth of juice.

The rest of the Honor Watch GS 4’s highlights include 32MB RAM, 4GB storage, and 5ATM water resistance. It also features a speaker and microphone for Bluetooth calling (BT 5.0), and has NFC for payments and travel purposes.

Moreover, the Watch GS 4 has dual-band antenna for navigation and supports five satellite positioning systems – Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and QZSS. The smartwatch weighs 44g without straps, which have an adjustable wrist size of 140-210mm.

The Honor Watch GS 4 has three color options – Starry Sky Exploration, Galaxy Shuttle, and Jasper Astrolabe (machine translated from Chinese). The last two come with leather straps and cost CNY1,199 ($165/€155/INR13,830), while the first one comes with silicone straps for CNY999 ($140/€130/INR11,520). All three are available in China through Honor’s Chinese website.

Honor Band 9

The Honor Band 9 features a 1.57″ rectangular AMOLED 60Hz touch display of 402×256-pixel resolution and 302 ppi pixel density with support for different watchfaces. Its case is made of polymer fiber, while the straps are made of leather or silicone.

The smart band has 4MB RAM and 48MB of storage onboard, and it’s compatible with devices running Android 9 and above and iOS 11 and above. It supports 96 indoor and outdoor sports modes (85 customized, 11 professional) and comes with heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and blood oxygen level measurement. It can measure blood pressure level and supports atrial fibrillation detection and women’s menstrual period tracking.

The Honor Band 9 has BLE 5.3 connectivity and NFC for payments and travel purposes. It also has a speaker and microphone onboard and packs a battery advertised to have 14 days of autonomy in a typical usage scenario and 10 days of endurance in a heavy usage scenario.

The rest of the Honor Band 9’s highlights include 5 ATM water resistance and music and camera control.

The Honor Band 9 comes in purple, black, and blue colors. It weighs 16.3g without straps, which have an adjustable length of 135-200mm. The Honor Band 9’s NFC version is priced at CNY299 ($40/€38/INR3,450), while the non-NFC model costs CNY249 ($35/€32/INR2,870). All are available in China through Honor’s Chinese website.
