Roku officially pushes into premium TVs today with the launch of the Roku Pro Series, with the prices ranging from $899.99 to $1,699.99.

The pricing is a little higher than expected since Roku originally announced it was going to sell the TVs for under $1,500. Still, the company says the Pro Series is designed to offer visuals that “pop off the screen,” along with immersive audio and a better remote.

The TVs in the Pro series all feature 4K QLED 120Hz panels. In addition, the screens come with mini-LED backlighting to enhance the color contrast and brightness. That’s a significant difference from Roku’s more affordable Select and Plus series, which use standard LED panels. The company also reduced the TVs’ thickness to just 1.9 inches.

The Pro series TVs promise to run fast and offer a snappy response rate by tapping an unnamed quad-core processor built with upgraded memory. “The Pro Series also comes equipped with a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) that allows Roku Smart Picture Max to automatically adjust picture settings,” the company said in its announcement.

Specifically, the Smart Picture Max tech uses AI algorithms to refine the color, contrast, and sharpness across the images in real-time. On the audio front, the Pro series also comes with a more robust array of speakers, including Dolby Atmos side-firing speakers “for rich spatial effects and deep bass,” Roku added.

Roku will also launch a Voice Remote Pro (2nd Edition) “in the coming months” for $29.99. It features “motion-activated backlit buttons” for night-time viewing, along with USB-C recharging.

The TVs will come in three sizes: 55 inches, 65 inches, and 75 inches. Find them at major retailers, including Best Buy, Walmart, and Amazon. Stay tuned for our reviews.
