Xiaomi’s Civi lineup of smartphones initially catered to young and female users, with beautiful aesthetics and solid selfie cameras being the key selling points. Lately, these phones have been appealing to a wider audience, and rightfully so. You get everything you expect from a smartphone with a beautiful body and great selfie cameras.

Earlier today, Xiaomi unveiled the Civi 4 Pro in China. Going big on performance, it is the first phone powered by the recently launched Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. This marks a shift from previous Civi models, as those never benefitted from a flagship-grade chipset. In addition, you get dual selfie shooters at the front, while the Leica-branded camera setup sits at the back. Here’s everything about the phone in detail.

Great Cameras on Both the Front and Back

Xiaomi announced a partnership with Leica back in 2022, and its smartphone cameras have drastically improved ever since. The Civi 4 Pro, featuring the Leica-tuned triple camera setup, is the latest phone to leverage this deal. It includes a 50MP Light Fusion 800 with f/1.63 aperture and OIS as the primary lens, paired with a 50MP Samsung JN1 telephoto sensor and a 12MP 120-degree ultrawide lens.

The front cameras are a treat for selfie lovers and vloggers. While the pill-shaped cutout at the front often carries sensors for face unlock, Xiaomi has used it to stack two front shooters on the phone. It comprises a 32MP dual camera setup, with a 78-degree FoV and an f/2.0 aperture on its primary lens and a 100-degree FoV and an f/2.4 aperture on the second. Additionally, the front cameras support 4K video recording, EIS, real-time voice subtitles, AI-powered portrait modes, and so much more.

Other Features and Specifications

The Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro is a pretty-looking device–as expected from the Civi lineup. All four sides on the rear are curved for a comfortable in-hand feel, while the round camera island looks similar to the Xiaomi CIVI 3. The phone is just 7.45mm thick and weighs just 179 grams.

At the front, you get a 6.55-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2750 x 1236 pixels and a pixel density of 460 PPI. It supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz and comes protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Under the hood, you get Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Soc–its cheaper alternative to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It clocks a peak speed of 3.0 GHz and is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The phone runs on the HyperOS user interface, based on Android 14.

The Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro draws its juice from a 4,700 mAh battery. It supports a max charging speed of 67W, which Xiaomi claims can fully charge the phone in 40 minutes, but it misses out on wireless charging. Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4.

Pricing and Availability

The Civi 4 Pro is available in four colorways: Spring Wild Green, Starry Black, Breeze Blue, and Soft Mist Pink. The 12GB + 256GB version costs 2999 Yuan ($416 approx), while the 12GB + 512GB variant costs 3299 Yuan ($458 approx). There’s also a special edition with Kona leather and mirror finish in White, Pink, and Blue color options. It comes in a 16 + 512GB configuration, which will set you back 3599 Yuan ($500 approx).

The phone is available for preorders on Xiaomi’s China website, and the sales will begin on March 26. Sadly, it won’t be leaving China like some previous Civi smartphones, though the folks at GSMChina believe it could also land in India.
