Galaxy Z Flip 6 will use bigger dual batteries than Z Flip 5

Although the Galaxy Note series no longer exists, Samsung continues to follow a two-pronged yearly release strategy for Galaxy S and Galaxy Z flagship phones. And with the Galaxy S24 series now official, the 2nd big Unpacked event of the year, where Samsung will announce the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6, is expected to happen in H2.

Speaking of the Galaxy Z Flip 6, our colleagues at GalaxyClub have dug out new battery information for the upcoming foldable flip phone. And there’s good news! It appears that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will have larger batteries than its predecessor.

Galaxy Z Flip walks in the S24’s footsteps

According to these new findings, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 features two batteries, and they’re both beefier. The smaller unit has a rated capacity of 1097mAh, and the larger one has a rated capacity of 2790mAh. Combined, the dual-battery system has a rated capacity of 3887mAh.

As a point of reference, the battery inside the Galaxy S24 has a rated capacity of 3880mAh and a typical (advertised) capacity of 4000mAh. Therefore, it’s likely that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will have an advertised battery capacity of 4000mAh. The ongoing Galaxy Z Flip 5 features 971mAh and 2620mAh units and rounds up to an advertised capacity of 3700mAh.

Whether the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will get a similar treatment and boast bigger batteries is to be determined. Either way, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 should, in theory, last longer than the Galaxy Z Flip 5 on a single charge.

Samsung should announce the upcoming foldable phones this summer. The 2023 models were introduced in July, so the sequel should be at least half a year away. More details will emerge by then, and we’ll keep you up to speed as soon as that happens.

The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 should employ new AI features, similar to the Galaxy S24 series, and may push the concept further with new additions and improvements to existing AI tools.
