One UI 6.1 was made official with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and it came out to pretty big fanfare, especially with the announcement of Galaxy AI. Since then, One UI 6.1 has trickled down the generations, bringing these AI features to the devices that can handle them, but others had to make do without.

Either way, a new major OS update is exactly that, and with or without Galaxy AI, it still brings a new feel and new features to the system, which is good enough for most people. At this point, there are several devices that have received the One UI 6.1 update in at least one region, so let’s talk about them.

When Samsung announced Galaxy AI with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 smartphones, it was made pretty clear that it was a One UI 6.1 feature that required pretty good hardware to run properly. As a result, it wasn’t a feature that was going to make it to a lot of devices.

Obviously, the Galaxy S24 series got it, and so did Samsung’s 2023 flagships, which were the Z Fold 5, the Z Flip 5, the S23 series (including the FE model), and the Tab S9 series of devices (excluding the FE models), with the full suite of Galaxy AI features.

Samsung initially said that 2022 devices, like the S22 didn’t have the power for Galaxy AI, but eventually backtracked on that, and as of now, the Galaxy S22 series has received the One UI 6.1 update with all the fancy AI (I got my update about three days ago!). The Galaxy Z Flip 4, Z Fold 4, and Tab S8 series are not left out either.

However, when it comes to 2021 flagships, they only get Galaxy AI features in a very limited capacity. Circle to Search and Magic Rewrite make it to the S21 series and the Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 with the One UI 6.1 update, but besides that, nothing else.

Now, if you don’t care too much about getting Galaxy AI features and all you want is One UI 6.1, then there are plenty of non-flagships on this list, particularly from Samsung’s A series of smartphones.

From 2022, the Galaxy A33, A53, and A73 all have the One UI 6.1 update rolling out to them at the moment, and this started just a few days ago. Just a few days before that, Samsung started the process for people using the Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54 that came out last year. Even the Tab Active 5, a rugged tablet released at the beginning of this year, has gotten the same love. The Tab S9 FE and FE+ get One UI 6.1 too, but sans AI features.

Most surprisingly though, is how the Samsung Galaxy A15, one of Samsung’s budget releases from this year, has gotten this update too. Low-cost devices usually aren’t a priority, but it’s nice to see Samsung show it some affection this time around.
