It seems like Samsung has equipped its Galaxy S24 Ultra and Z Fold5 with a secret crash detection feature that may soon be pushed via software update. Developer Mishaal Rahman discovered the system code for the “Car Crash Detect Wakeup” sensor buried inside a OneUI 6.1 hidden system app called MoccaMobile.

Rahman details that this feature relies on a composite sensor that uses data from several physical sensors like the accelerometer and gyroscope and fuses that data via the Android Sensor Hub. It remains to be seen how Samsung plans to roll out the feature and if it is also present on the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ models.
