The anticipation in the consumer tech sphere is palpable as we await the Apple event, where the new iPhone 15 series is set to make its debut. However, this month brings not just one major tech event but two, as Microsoft has its own event slated for September 21, promising the unveiling of fresh Surface hardware. As we count down to both of these eagerly awaited events, specifications of the upcoming Microsoft Surface products have surfaced online.

Expected Specifications

Roland Quandt from WinFuture.de has shared a report outlining Microsoft Surface specifications, citing information obtained from online retailers. According to the report, Microsoft’s upcoming products will primarily focus on internal upgrades, particularly related to the CPU. The Surface Laptop Studio 2 is expected to maintain its 14.4-inch PixelSense display with a 2400 x 1600-pixel resolution and 3:2 aspect ratio. It will be powered by the ‘Raptor Lake’ 13th Gen Intel Core CPU, specifically the 45W Intel Core i7-13800H, boasting a 5.0GHz chipset with six high-performance cores and eight energy-saving cores. Memory options include 16GB and 32GB of RAM, coupled with 512GB and 1TB SSD storage. The upcoming model is also anticipated to feature more USB Type-C ports compared to its predecessor, with the overall design remaining unchanged.

On the other hand, the Surface Laptop Go 2 is set to receive a refresh with the Intel Core i5-1235U processor, a 12th Gen Intel Core CPU from 2022 with dual high-end cores clocked at 4.4GHz and eight energy-efficient cores. It will offer a single 8GB RAM option, while storage choices will include 128GB and 256GB SSDs for faster data transfer speeds.

Intel N200 processor clocked up to 3.7GHz. Speculation suggests that only the 8GB RAM variant may be offered, with the 4GB RAM model potentially being scrapped this year. Storage options could range from 64GB, 128GB, to 256GB, depending on the model. The product design is expected to remain consistent with the previous generation.

Microsoft is anticipated to release these new Surface hardware products in October. While pricing details are not mentioned in the report, it suggests that buyers may encounter a slight increase in prices compared to their predecessors.
