Pixel 9 Pro Leaked Images Reveal Tweaked Design – Talk Android

The Google Pixel 9 series is not expected to launch until much later this fall, but the leaks and rumor mills are still operating non-stop. This time, a visual update provides us with actual live images, courtesy of a Russian website, with the leaked photos giving an exclusive first look specifically at the Pixel 9 Pro.

Smaller Size Confirmed?

The leaked images via Rozetked shows that the Pixel 9 Pro appears to be similar in size to the iPhone 15 Pro, which features a 6.1-inch display. This aligns with previously rendered designs that surfaced in January, which showcased the Pixel Fold-like camera array change and hinted at a smaller display. The image also showcases a completely flat display and flat edges, departing from the curved design of its predecessors.

The back panel features a redesigned camera housing array, resembling the Pixel Fold’s camera bump. This setup is housed in an oval-shaped island that doesn’t extend from edge to edge, unlike the previous “visor” style.

The leaked images also give us a closer look at the Pixel 9 Pro’s physical buttons and ports. The power button and volume rocker are located on the right edge of the device, while the top features an antenna cutout. The USB-C port is positioned on the bottom, flanked by a speaker on one side and a microphone cutout and SIM card slot on the other.

In addition, the source of the leaked images reveals that the Pixel 9 Pro prototype is equipped with 16GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. This information was confirmed by using the device’s fastboot mode (a common setting for prototype devices).

Under the hood, the Pixel 9 Pro is expected to be powered by the Tensor G4 chipset, which could feature Samsung’s Modem 5400, enabling satellite connectivity for the flagship models. Additionally, the device is rumored to retain the temperature sensor that was first introduced in the Pixel 8 Pro.

Current rumors point to the possibility that Google will launch at least three smartphones in the Pixel 9 series: the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is expected to be the true successor to the Pixel 8 Pro in terms of size, while the Pixel 9 Pro will have similar dimensions to the vanilla Pixel 9 but with added Pro features like the periscope telephoto rear camera.

As the official launch of the Pixel 9 series is still months away, we always caution excited users that the final product may still differ from the prototype shown in the leaked images. That being said, double confirmations of this kind do provide tantalizing insight, and this news definitely did not help in dialing back the hype for the major changes we will officially see in October.
